Halloween is the time when awful and horrible frightening things are sold. One of them was called the horrorscope. As the name suggests it predicted horrible things. For Scorpios it stated that if they had not encountered an attack on October 26 they would contract rabies. To cure rabies it needs at least twenty injections. This horrorscope was free and no one really took it very seriously though they deleted the messages immediately.

Websites like Google may have security lapses. An item in this website spoke of root access via telnet which could have caused problems. Google noted it and repaired the blunder. Intellectuals and talented people, whose mindset forbids them to accept what has been told to them and to obey when something is forbidden, often hack their way into forbidden areas. All sites have to protect themselves and not become vulnerable to hacker’s attacks.

Several new launches are mentioned in this website which keeps on including new items. Sprint’s new QWERTY smartphone is featured. This phone is available in only a couple of selected retail stores. Two Sony Ericsson products Sony W705 Walkman phone and MBS-900 Bluetooth speaker are also written about.

It’s great news that Australia’s Channel Ten is launching a new sports channel next year. It will feature the best sports events in the world. At the top of the priority list are the US NBA Basketball, US Major League Baseball and US Open Golf tournament, the three major events of the year, besides other sports events. This is a real challenge to other channels.

A new invention called the Nike Hindsight, invented by Billy May will definitely benefit the urban cyclist. Fitted with Fresnel lenses, this spec will give an unparalleled vision to cyclists that, is not possible with normal specs. The lenses are similar to the ones which are on the back of school buses and it gives extra vision to cyclists. It is quite cheap and very useful. This concept will be very useful. If a laser is attached to the lens it can knock out cell phones out of the hands of inattentive drivers.

The European Union has apparently imposed a new rule which states that wineries cannot use the word ‘Port’ on their wine labels unless the wine was made in Portugal. To circumvent this rule winemakers, especially the Peltier Station Winery, have found out a loophole. They have been branding their dessert wines as ‘USB’ in lieu of the word port. They even boldly stated the $25 wine as USB Port.

The above mentioned news items are just tips of an iceberg. There is more news from the world of Motorola, Nokia, Kodak and other such industries dealing with iTech.
